Overview
The team at Airbo helps companies educate their employees about the benefits available to them. This project addressed Airbo users' need to more simply share benefits content via email and SMS blast, and to provide upgrade paths from the free to paid versions of broadcast messaging.

UX & UI Design
The challenge
The old system for notifications in Airbo was limited in terms of customization and users wanted to be able to more easily and flexibly target content to different segments of employees. Airbo was also looking for a way to provide a solid free version to customers while also being able to monetize premium upsells for the first time in their product.
Integrating upsells into a free experience

Research
Largely driven by feedback from sales, customer success and user feedback collected via surveys, we knew that a broadcast sharing feature was critical for our users and something competitors were already doing well. I started by researching paradigms and gathering inspiration from other content sharing platforms. I then mapped those patterns to available components and patterns in the Airbo design system to determine what we could reuse, reshape and what we would need to build from scratch.
How we did it
Partnering with product and engineering, we rapidly designed this work and got feedback on testing prototypes from customer success and sales along the way.
Outcome
We were able to ship a free and upgraded version of broadcast messaging to users that increased HR benefits professionals' ability to share benefits information with their employees, and introduced the concept of Airbo Premium and upgrades into the Airbo experience.
